Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using CPD Ally, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the platform.

CPD Ally is operated by Shelley Bird (ABN to be registered) in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

2. Beta service

CPD Ally is currently in beta. This means:

  • The platform is provided free of charge during the beta period
  • Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice
  • You may experience bugs, downtime, or data inconsistencies
  • We welcome your feedback to help improve the platform

We will provide reasonable notice before ending the beta period or introducing paid plans. Your CPD data will remain accessible and exportable regardless of any pricing changes.

3. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
  • You must be an AHPRA-registered health professional or student to use CPD Ally
  • One account per person — do not share your account credentials
  • You may delete your account at any time by contacting us

4. Your data and content

You own your data. All CPD entries, reflections, career goals, and other content you create on CPD Ally remains your intellectual property. We do not claim ownership of your content.

By using CPD Ally, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. This licence ends when you delete your account.

You can export your CPD data (PDF or CSV) at any time from the Track CPD page.

5. AI-generated content

CPD Ally uses artificial intelligence to provide features including CPD discovery, file parsing, relevance scoring, and career goal suggestions. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content (CPD recommendations, relevance scores, goal suggestions) is provided as a guide only and may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any AI-generated information before relying on it
  • AI-suggested CPD opportunities may not be accredited by your AHPRA National Board — always verify accreditation status with the provider
  • International CPD opportunities identified by AI may not satisfy specific AHPRA board category requirements
  • AI relevance scores are indicative only and do not constitute professional advice

6. Not professional advice

CPD Ally is a management and tracking tool. It does not provide professional, legal, financial, or career advice. Specifically:

  • CPD Ally does not guarantee compliance with AHPRA CPD requirements — you are responsible for ensuring your CPD meets your National Board’s standards
  • Compliance status indicators are based on the data you enter and our understanding of board requirements, which may not reflect recent changes to standards
  • Career goal suggestions do not constitute career counselling
  • Peer matching is for professional networking only — we do not vet or endorse any practitioners on the platform

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use CPD Ally for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload false or fabricated CPD records
  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform
  • Misrepresent your AHPRA registration status or professional qualifications

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

  • CPD Ally is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind
  • We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to: loss of data, failure to meet CPD requirements, incorrect AI-generated content, or decisions made based on information from the platform
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $0 during the free beta period)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

9. Termination

You may stop using CPD Ally and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with notice where practicable. On termination, you may export your data before your account is deleted.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
